World Breastfeeding Week Series: Elle & Baby G

Q: What has been the most joyous aspect of breastfeeding for you?

I have loved the closeness. Being able to slow down and be truly in the moment with my daughter has brought me so much joy. I love being able to share this special time with her.

Q: What has been the most challenging aspect of breastfeeding?

I found learning how to breastfeed quite challenging. I thought it would come so naturally, but there was a learning curve I didn’t expect. My daughter and I had to learn how to breastfeed together and once we had honed our skills it became so much more effortless and relaxed.

Q: What would you like other breastfeeding mothers/parents to know about breastfeeding?

How wonderful it is. I love being able to feed and soothe my baby wherever we are. I feel so grateful that we’ve been able to successfully breastfeed for the past eight months (and counting) and hope all parents get to experience this kind of closeness and bonding, like my daughter and I have.
