Hi, I’m Joelleen.

What can I help you with?

As an IBCLC Lactation Consultant (Midwife & Naturopath), I can offer holistic support with common breastfeeding/feeding challenges such as:

Supporting confidence in your breastfeeding technique (latching)

Addressing causes of nipple pain

Increasing milk supply through diet and galactagogues (substances that can increase milk production)

Support with nipple shields + weaning nipple shields

Managing a fast flow

Support with fussing at the breast

Pumping and bottle feeding support

Sustainable feeding plans

Helping you to recognise your baby’s cues and age-appropriate play advice

I use a holistic approach, assessing your breastfeeding technique, your baby’s developmental stage and needs, and use my naturopathy knowledge to enhance your physical and mental wellbeing. My expertise is best utilised within the first 16 weeks of your breastfeeding and feeding journey.

My breastfeeding journey would have ended much sooner if I hadn’t worked with Joelleen. She helped with latch and positioning but also helped me build a realistic and well-rounded plan for breastfeeding into the future. Joelleen was super caring and professional, she turned around a detailed plan really quickly – it’s something I refer back to often. Having the two-house visits and email support was also really helpful for us, it meant we could work on what we learnt in the first consult and follow up with questions in the second. Highly recommend!

I can’t say enough positive things about Joelleen. We came to her panicked about our baby’s breast refusal and she guided us through many strategies to improve our breastfeeding situation. She suggested positions that hadn’t been mentioned to us in hospital, taught us paced bottle feeding and gave us a more comprehensive idea of how to improve my milk supply beyond pumping. This included more rest and nutrition advice that made a difference and increased my supply. I also loved that she prioritised my mental health, not just feeding from the baby’s perspective. This care was greatly comforting in a time of such change and stress when breastfeeding wasn’t going well for us. Above all, she is a warm, kind, knowledgeable professional and we greatly enjoyed each session with her. I could go on and on really!!!
